Lo Mio is more than a brand — it’s a bridge toward inclusive and transformative development. We began as a fair trade project committed to supporting the holistic growth of textile artisans from rural communities in the Peruvian Andes and beyond. We believe in the power of handcrafted traditions, where each handmade rug or pillow tells a unique story and supports sustainable development.

Eliminating intermediaries

The traditional supply chain for handmade textiles can be lengthy, leaving artisans with a fraction of the final price. Lo Mio’s goal is to remove unnecessary middlemen, ensuring each hand-woven or hand-loomed piece directly benefits the artisans and their communities. Lo Mio is committed to reinvesting part of its future profits into the communities we work with, supporting development and giving back to the people behind each piece.

Our mission & values

To connect Indigenous textile artisans with a fair and global market, making sure every purchase uplifts their livelihoods and preserves ethnic design traditions.

  • Fair trade & social uplift
  • Sustainability & slow design
  • Quality & unique home decor
  • Cultural preservation
  • Respect for artisans

The artisan process

Behind every Lo Mio piece is a deeply handwoven process. From sheep wool cleaning and natural dyeing to weaving on traditional backstrap looms, each product holds ancestral wisdom. Originally designed to endure the harsh winters above 3,000 meters, these boho style rugs and blankets now adorn modern homes worldwide.

Environmental impact

Traditional weaving methods are inherently sustainable — using biodegradable sheep wool and manual looms that require no electricity. Every handcrafted product encourages slow design values, minimizing environmental impact while celebrating cultural authenticity.
